Paediatric physiotherapy in Waldhausen, Hannover
Big steps start small.
Purzelbaum is a physiotherapy practice for babies, children and teenagers. We work at the height of the child: on the mat, on the ball, on the floor — with the family in the room.

What we do
A paediatrician or specialist writes the prescription. We take it from there: we assess how your child moves, agree on a goal with you, and treat in short, playful units that a child can actually sustain. You are present for every session, and you leave with two or three things to try at home — not a homework programme.

Treatments and prices
Prices apply when you come as a self-payer. With a paediatrician's prescription, statutory insurance covers the treatment and under-18s pay no co-payment.

Two concepts, two people
Bobath and Vojta are different approaches. They are not ranked against each other, and neither suits every child. We tell you which one we would suggest and why — and what the alternative would look like.

Easy words
Coming for the first time?
There is a page written for children in easy words. It tells them, step by step, what will happen at the first appointment. Read it together before you come.
Open the children's pageA doctor writes a note for you. The note says: you may come to us. We look at how you move. Then we practise together. We practise with a ball. We practise on a mat. It is a bit like playing. Sometimes it is hard work.
Coming with a small child
The practice is on the ground floor. Everything below is here because parents asked for it.
Pram parking indoors
Six pram spaces in the entrance hall, out of the rain. Take the rain cover off before you come in — the hall gets slippery.
Changing table
In the accessible toilet, with wipes and nappies in two sizes if you have run out.
Step-free entrance
Ground floor, no steps from the pavement, doors wide enough for a wheelchair or a double buggy.
Feeding corner
A quiet armchair with a curtain next to the waiting area. Use it whenever you need it; nobody will ask.
Play corner
In sight of the treatment room, so a sibling can be watched from where you are sitting.
Parking
Two marked spaces in the courtyard, plus free on-street parking on Bothmerstraße. Stadtbahn lines 1, 2 and 8 stop at Altenbekener Damm, four minutes' walk.
Prescription, insurance, costs
The short version: with a prescription from the paediatrician, statutory insurance pays, and under-18s pay nothing towards it.
Statutory insurance (GKV)
We are licensed with all statutory health insurers. With a valid Heilmittelverordnung from the paediatrician or a specialist, the insurer pays for the prescribed sessions. We bill the insurer directly; you do not pay us and you do not claim anything back.
No co-payment under 18
The statutory co-payment (Zuzahlung) of 10 euros per prescription plus 10 percent of the cost of each treatment applies only to insured people aged 18 and over. Children and adolescents under 18 are exempt by law — you pay nothing at all. From the eighteenth birthday the normal co-payment applies unless there is an individual exemption.
Private insurance and Beihilfe
You receive an invoice under the GebüH schedule and submit it to your insurer or Beihilfe office. How much comes back depends on your policy — please check the rate for physiotherapy for children before the first appointment so there are no surprises.

5.0 / 5,0via jameda
„Tobias talked us through Vojta twice before we started, including the part where our daughter cries. Nobody had done that. We decided to try it, and we knew what we were deciding.“

„Our son is four and does not sit still. Marlene never once tried to make him. Somehow the exercises happened anyway.“
4.0 / 5,0via jameda
„The scoliosis check gave us a written summary that our orthopaedic specialist actually read. That saved us an appointment.“

„Waiting time for a first appointment was five weeks, which is a long time when you are worried. The practice was honest about it on the phone rather than promising something sooner.“
